Industrial Engineer Co-Op

Under the direction of the World Class Manufacturing Manager, the Industrial Engineer Co-Op will be assigned to projects that will assist with gaining knowledge around process improvement, project management, time management and standard operating procedures within a union manufacturing environment.
Role and Responsibilities
Lead assigned process improvement projects (safety, cost and quality) with the support of the mentor and coach.
Complete data gathering, process optimization and workplace organization.
Develop leadership skills through opportunities focused on change management, collaboration, communication, conflict management, decision-making, delegation, inspiration and time management.
Ability to work on the production floor 80% of the time to assess process blocks within the production workflow from raw materials being received to products being shipped out.
Ability to remove obstacles for production employees that they may face on the production floor. (understanding the tools, resources, training, workflow, scheduling, communication and etc.)
Ability to connect the dots from understanding the business to what needs to happen on the production floor to get the product out to the customer on time and accurately.
Currently in your Junior or Senior year achieving a bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or similar operations related degree.
GPA of 2.8 or higher
Knowledge and Skills
Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
The ability to complete multiple projects on schedule with minimal supervision
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and Project Management
Ability to multi-task;
Ability to problem-solve effectively;
Need to be able to follow GMP and Safety regulations on the production floor.
Payrate: $15.00-$20.00/per hour
