Position Overview:
The Optical Manager will deliver outstanding patient care by applying their optical knowledge & expertise to maximize the optical center’s sales, profit and customer service objectives. The Optical Manager will lead a team of Optical Professionals and will oversee all optical center operations. Specific responsibilities include dispensing of eyewear, patient care, and the financial performance of  the optical center. Directly responsible for all human resources activities within the optical center including recruiting, coaching, and performance conversations. Ensures that the optical center meets all operational goals and models Shopko Optical’ s commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
 
Minimum Knowledge, Experience & Skills Requirements:
  • Optician with 3 years of leadership experience or equivalent management experience with strong customer service focus
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and build teammate relationships in an environment of fast change; must be able to  lead and motivate a diverse teammate population
  • Must demonstrate Shopko Optical’s commitment to provide exceptional patient care through a solution-oriented and flexible customer service approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems of varied scope; must be able to act decisively in implementing solutions
  • Strong organizational skills for planning work and continuously monitoring progress towards goals
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task; ability to respond flexibly in a quickly changing environment
  • Ability to analyze financial reports and take action to positively improve go-forward results
  • Must be available to work early mornings, days, nights and weekends to meet the needs of the optical center
