Position Title: Sr. Development Engineer Hardware Test
 
Job Description:
Sr. Development Engineer Hardware Test (Rockwell Automation, Inc; Mequon, WI) Performs intermediate level testing on hardware and firmware based products at the individual functional and product level. Contribute to the creation of test platforms for automated and manual tests. Contribute to the creation of product functional test plans from product Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS), High Level Design documents (HLDD) and subject matter expert input. Contribute to the generation of product test plans including methods, task identification, schedule generation, manpower identification and cost assessment. Contribute to the design and implementation of product and system test set-ups. Participate in hardware/product design and safety reviews. Participate in the reviews of test plans and associated schedule. Develop product test procedures and capture those procedures in the applicable test management system. Investigate product problems, with emphasis on hardware product support. Maintains familiarity with appropriate Agency requirements such as UL508 and EN61800-3, 61800-5 product specific standards. Be able to interpret, troubleshoot, and apply the control features of IGBT based power converters or motor drives in a development test environment. Participate in cross functional concept generation for new products representing test input to the design process. Investigate hardware and software tools and methods to improve the functional testing process. Domestic travel required approximately 5% of the year. 40 hrs/wk, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. Qualifications
Job Details:
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, and three (3) years of experience as a Hardware Development or Test Engineer. As part of the experience being required, applicants must have had: experience using Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) principles such as Design of Experiments, Monte Carlo Analysis for statistical analysis and problem/solution selection; experience with embedded controllers in power conversion equipment; experience with RS Logix 5000 or other PLC programming tools; experience testing to the requirements of UL508C, UL61800-5-1, ISO 61800-5-1, IEC 61508 TUV functional safety, SEMI F47, and various Marine standards; experience working in an ISO 17025 certified new product development lab and following the standard work practices established by the standard; experience testing and documenting test results in the UL Data Acceptance Program (DAP); and experience with SAP, LeanKit, CLM, Doors Next Gen, Clear Quest, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
