Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced Equity Associate for our Private Wealth Management equity research team.  This team is responsible for consulting on nearly $50B in individual stocks in Baird’s PWM system and providing guidance and support to Baird’s Financial Advisors. The team manages Baird's Recommended Portfolio, and Rising Dividend Portfolio along with providing new investment ideas regularly through various screens and idea lists.

As an Equity Associate, you will:
  • Support team in providing up to date and timely investment guidance and recommendations to Financial Advisors on behalf of their individual/retail clients.  This includes providing updates and opinions on stocks across all industry sectors.  
  • Analyze individual equity portfolios and offer insights and recommendations on portfolio allocation and construction.
  • Provide insight on general investment topics/themes when received by the field.
  • Assist with development of equity ideas and screens, focusing on current market conditions, stock-specific opportunities and needs specific to individual high net worth clients.
  • Participate in creating of daily Private Wealth Management research update, published and distributed every morning by 8:00 CT, collecting and synthesizing updates deemed important for Financial Advisors and their clients regarding individual securities, ratings changes, industry updates and other topical updates.
  • Other duties/projects as assigned.

What We Look For:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; must become licensed within 6 months of hire(series 7 & 63 is required)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Some level of engagement with the stock market and familiarity with financial modeling and valuation techniques preferred
  • Willingness to work early and flexible hours; workday starts at 6:30 am
  • Effective time-management with strong organizational/planning skills and capacity to handle increasing levels of responsibility as needed
  • Ability to work well both within a team and on a self-directed basis.  Must be able to work in collaborative environment.
