Job Overview

We have an immediate opportunity for an IT Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team located in Milwaukee, WI.  This position will provide hands on technical support to our Engineering Team.  

Responsibilities
  • Provide troubleshooting, problem solving and on-site technical support for the engineering team
  • Provide Client PC support for all hardware/software computer deployments and related issues
  • Analyze, test, implement and support the rollouts of new client technologies such as pc’s, laptops, tablets and mobile end point devices
  • Analyze, troubleshoot and support all aspects of the client infrastructure, including PC hardware and software installs, video conferencing, Webex, wireless networking, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP Client based issues
  • Provide client level support for all IT and Engineering deployments and projects
  • Utilize network management software to add/remove users for access to network resources.
  • Support remote access through the VPN, wireless networking, and cellular networking.
  • Develop solutions for simple to complex user issues (hardware and/or software).
  • Develop technical process and procedure documentation, as well as end-user documentation.
  • R&D on new client technologies, including testing of new models of end point devices as they are added to the environment
  • Support video conferencing, Webex applications and Cisco IP Phones
  • Complete other projects as assigned
Education / Qualification
  • Associates degree in IT or a related field, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and come to a resolution
  • Previous Experience Supporting Engineering Systems Strongly Preferred (SolidWorks and ADEPT a Plus)
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP and DNS
  • Must be proficient with Windows operating system, Microsoft Outlook and O365
  • Ability to research computer related issues to resolve hardware and software problems
  • Excellent time management, problem solving, troubleshooting and multi-tasking ability
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical issues into laymen’s terms both within IT and within all levels of the company
