About the team:
The IMS Network Engineering team provides global trading network infrastructure for FIS and it’s clients. The high caliber members are among the technology leaders within FIS, utilizing multiple technologies and vendors. This team requires motivated members are ready to develop personally and professionally as FIS grows to meet the challenges presented by today’s global economies.
Network Analyst Senior – This team member will be responsible for managing the low latency trading network infrastructure for FIS. This includes data center, customer, and exchange connectivity. The responsibilities include design, configuration, and support of the network infrastructure. This role will also include thought and technical leadership for the Network Engineering team.
General Duties & Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for devising, deploying, and maintaining the network infrastructure used for trading businesses. Daily functions include deployment of devices including (but not limited to) routers and switches, device configurations, operating system maintenance, troubleshooting connectivity issues with circuits, equipment and routing protocols, and documenting the network topology. The individual must be able to work within a structured change management system and be able to provide updates on changes, incidents, and problems. Experience with Juniper QFX and SRX series devices a plus.
• Communicates ideas both verbally and in written form in a clear, concise and professional manner
• Knowledge of basic IT technologies (i.e. operating systems, network devices, software development and architecture)
• Knowledge of network specific technologies (i.e. routing (MPLS, [MP-]BGP, ISIS, EIGRP), switching (STP/RSTP), firewalls, load balancers, network operating systems (Junos, iOS), and QoS/CoS
• Experience with multiple network vendors, predominantly Juniper and Cisco
• Requires knowledge of basic Office tools
• Ability to understand and apply technical concepts
• Team skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Flexibility, versatility, dependability
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities
• Ability to work within a structured change management system
This role will be assigned highly visible, sensitive, and critical projects requiring an extensive knowledge of network technologies. A strong knowledge of network protocols such as MPLS, VPLS, LDP & RSVP would be very beneficial. This role typically requires a minimum of 7 to 10 years experience performing hands on network services infrastructure engineering, troubleshooting, and operationalizing network infrastructure.
Bachelor's degree in technical discipline or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience as required for the specific job level. CCIE and/or JNCIE certification preferred.
