As a Visual Weld Inspector [CWI], you understand the true meaning of hard work. You are smart, strong, and willing to get dirty. You have a “roll up your sleeves” attitude and enjoy work that is more physically demanding. Both your internal project managers and external clients are pleased with your evaluations, since inspections are something you take pride in. You go above and beyond in order to ensure that the client receives quality inspections. Need a little extra training? No worries, we offer paid certifications. You will be part of a dynamic, growing and energized team – and your role is key to the success of ECS. While your job duties may fluctuate day to day, here are some areas we expect to see you proficient in:
- Testing of structural steel during erection on general building and pipeline sites, as well as plant inspections
- General construction and structural steel erection
- AWS and AISC specifications required
- Testing of concrete and soils
If you can accomplish the above, your boots are probably ready for walking right into this role. Realistically though, you need the following to be considered:
- High School diploma or GED
- 1 year of experience
- AWS CWI, UT, MT, and PT certifications required
- Some serious GRIT and have no problem lifting/carrying 40 – 100 lbs. multiple times a day
