    RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:

    Under general supervision of the HVAC & Refrigeration Systems Shop Leader, performs repairs, installs, modifies, maintain HVAC systems. Make electrical and mechanical inspection as well as maintenance on equipment utilizing results oriented strategies and judgment to ensure continuing operation. Uses experience and technical skills with preventive maintenance and system operations to determine service requirements.

    Principal Duties

    Provides troubleshooting for HVAC, Refrigeration Systems, and other mechanical devices and dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools.

    Using hand/power tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, mount compressor and condenser units, fabricate, assemblies and install ductwork and other parts.

    Connects motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls and circulating-ventilation fans to control panels and connects control panels to power sources.

    Performs preventative maintenance on HVAC & Refrigeration Systems, other mechanical equipments and electrical equipment.

    Installs, maintains and repairs reciprocating, screw, centrifugal, heat pump air conditioning, electrical, mechanical and energy management systems.

    Performs established preventative maintenance procedures on building systems and auxiliary equipment.

    Reinstalls, tests, evaluates, calibrates and maintains instruments or devices upon completion of repairs.

    Disassembles, inspects, cleans repairs, calibrates, tests, and performs periodic maintenance of specialty equipment and systems utilized in any of our facility maintenance.

    Identifies necessary system or equipment repairs and recommends appropriate action.

    Drafts and implements plans for installations of modifications of HVAC & Refrigeration Systems, electrical, mechanical or piping systems. Interprets blueprints and schematics of building systems to identify sources of environmental problems.

    Inspects and repairs pumps, fans, valves and motors ensuring proper standards.

    Locates part sources, estimates costs and prepares requisition.

    Documents daily record of inspection, calibration, and maintenance activity, repair and other work performed within approved guidelines and procedures.

    Communicates with customer staff and outside contractors in the calibration, repair and operation of equipment as necessary and coordinates with outside contractors regarding repairs covered by maintenance agreements.

    Inspects and performs mechanical equipment such as cooling towers, cooling units, and filters.

    Monitors equipment operations through walking tours. Reports any alarms representing failure of systems.

    Performs troubleshoot and repairs, commercial, industrial and HVAC Refrigeration units.

    Performs specific preventative maintenance including belt adjustments, oiling, greasing and cleaning of equipment, removes, cleans and replace filters.

    Plans, selects, and prepares layouts required of materials for installation, service and/or repair work. May provide estimates, time and material costs of various projects.

    Provides direction and works from drawings, schematics, job layouts or verbal instructions and operate a variety of tools and machines incidental to operations.

    Ensures appropriate maintenance documentation is completed and filed.

    Certifies project status and/or general maintenance performance is documented and reported to customer and company on a timely and consistent basis.

    Provides recommendations to make modifications, installation, repair, replacement or maintenance of all assigned equipment.

    Tests systems and/or components for vacuum and refrigerant leaks.

    Uses refrigerant gases such as R123, R22, R134A, R410, NH3.

    Must know and follow strict safety regulations and practices at all time.

    Other Functions

    Individual in this job one or more of the following task on a rotating or as-needed basic.

    Employees in this level may lead laborers and other assistants.

    Performs other related duties as it may be required.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and abilities

    Have ability to read and interpret blueprints or other written instructions.

    Oral and written instructions are received from Service Operation Agent with the Service Manager supports that are responsible for the coordination of necessary work.

    Demonstrate ability to properly maintain care for tools and equipment used on job assignments.

    Formalize training in HVAC & Refrigeration systems.

    A mechanical aptitude.

    Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting.

    Skills and knowledge of various types of tools used in general HVAC Refrigeration maintenance systems.

    Team player committed to be working in quality environment with Strong communication and organization skills.

    Qualifications

    Qualification Standards

    Education: High school graduated

    A Mechanical aptitude ( College Degree)

    Knowledge of HVAC/Refrigeration products is a must, experience in different type of compressors and brands

    Must have at least 10 years of experience. Must be able to travel outside the country for 80% of the time.

    Be able to analyze and solve complex product or system problems.

    A passport is required

    Broad knowledge of mechanical systems, chilled water systems, controls systems and energy plants.

    Must be bilingual (English/Spanish).
