Job Description

Imagine yourself working with this team… At Aurora Health Care the Application Support Specialist works closely with clinic staff and leadership as well as Information Systems team to ensure successful implementation of procedures, applications and/or programs. They assist Information Services application and technical teams in the on-going management of clinical and business application problems, user requests, and general service delivery of information systems solutions (e.g. software enhancements, problem tracking, troubleshooting, issue resolution). . Imagine yourself… *Working with users and site leadership to develop and/or modify procedures as a result of workflow process changes related to clinical and/or business application(s) use.
*Effectively explaining the functioning of the assigned application(s) and related systems to the users.
*Providing frontline systems support for assigned clinics in the utilization of assigned application(s).
*Serving as an on-site instructor and resource to physicians, leadership and staff on application(s).
*Providing initial and ongoing training; updating procedures; and serving as a resource for users application(s).
*Assisting in installations and updates for all assigned application(s) in cooperation with Information Services staff and the Coordinator Application Support Specialist.



Skills / Requirements
General Qualifications

*High School diploma or equivalent required.
*Demonstrated strong user experience with automated clinical and/or business systems within a physician group practice such as: *electronic medical record (Cerner Powerchart Office)
*scheduling, billing, registration (IDX)
*handheld prescriptions (All Scripts)
*dictation, prescription, mammography tracking
*credit card integration
*3+ years progressive experience in clinical and/or business operations in a physician group practice.
*Ability to provide initial and ongoing training.
*Ability to review and analyze business and clinical functions, procedures, and information flows. Ability to create documentation.
*Demonstrates basic knowledge and understanding of the technical components of an Information System, including basic hardware, platform, database concepts, and terminology.
*Ability to actively contribute within a team-focused environment.
*Ability to identify and solve problems creatively.
*Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
*Ability to work independently in a fast pace, dynamic environment. Ability to work within deadlines with a high attention to detail.
*Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employee, which is necessary to collaborate with staff/management/executives/other organizations.
*Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word) or similar products.
*Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time.


Desired Qualifications

*An Associates or Bachelor's degree in a health care related field preferred.
