Job Description Job Title: District Sales Manager - Mississippi Territory Job ID: 9086 Location: Brookfield, WI Regular/Temporary: Regular Responsibilities Position Summary: Responsible for expanding the profitable sale of a broad range of Briggs & Stratton products (e.g. Commercial, Snapper, Simplicity Manufacturing Inc.), through Dealers in an assigned territory. Secures new and existing Dealer orders and effectively communicates, implements and executes all applicable Company programs to Dealers. Responsible for recruiting new dealers based on market potential. Performs special assignments as requested. Job Responsibilities: 1. Present Sales & Marketing Programs, secure new and existing orders from Dealers to the assigned purchase level (individual Dealer & total territory); develop business partnerships with new and existing dealers 2. Maintain level of service, communication and motivation of Dealers by a regular and consistent call cycle, to include phone contact as well as personal visits 3. Recruit New Dealers based on market potential and Company strategy and objectives 4. Interface with Regional Sales Manager and Company support personnel as necessary for consistent, open communication, dealer support, implementation of Company programs and achievement of territory and Company goals and objectives 5. Meet territory goals/objectives based on a business plan; maintain (revise & update) on an ongoing basis as necessary; implement same 6. Control and reduce selling costs thru efficient Dealer ranking, routing, planning and expense control 7. Reviews and analyzes sales and marketing statistics and data to promote sales; analyzes data (including data on the competition) to determine dealer needs, volume potential and opportunities for growth; provides forecasting information 8. Maintain/safeguard Company equipment and vehicle in proper operating condition; responsible for DOT compliance 9. Perform limited range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budget 10. Promote the 'sell-thru' of Dealer commitments thru advertising, planning implementation of group ad campaigns and promoting individual dealer advertising & sound merchandising practices 11. Job may require travel of a scheduled or urgent nature (e.g. overnight travel to assist in national and regional trade shows as required) 12. Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required 13. Must live within assigned territory. COMPETENCIES Skills / Requirements
? Ability to analyze sales trends to identify alternatives that will maximize sales opportunities ? Solid knowledge of all Briggs & Stratton products and sales procedures ? Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse groups of people ? Solid PC skills including understanding of sales software systems, Microsoft Word and Excel required ? Must be able to work independently and possess solid organizational skills ? Valid driver's license required ? Able and willing to safely load, secure and operate a variety of company trailers on a regular basis Education Requirements: ? Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required Experience Requirements: ? Minimum of five years of highly successful sales experience ?
