Job: Financial Systems Analyst

Position Title: Financial Systems Analyst Department: ControllerDivision: Finance & AdministrationWorkweek: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. POSITION PURPOSEUnder the direction of the Associate Controller, the Financial Systems Analyst will complete complex assignments relating to the Oracle applications, to include application upgrade management, application enhancements, process documentation, and application error resolution, in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Coordinate and supervise the testing of Oracle software upgrades, reports and modifications for the general ledger, fixed assets, accounts receivable, cash management, grants accounting, accounts payable and purchasing applications. Develop test plans, execute or oversee testing activities and validation and reconciliation of test data to source documents or production system. Research, troubleshoot, and resolve issues that arise in the production system including data inconsistencies, unexpected error messages and daily close exceptions. Coordinate with the IS Development Team when Oracle support is needed. Plan and manage the implementation of identified Oracle enhancement opportunities within the core Oracle applications (general ledger, fixed assets, accounts receivable, cash management, grants accounting, accounts payable and purchasing). Oversee the maintenance of value sets and related configurations for the general ledger, fixed assets and grant accounting applications. Document processes and related configurations thoroughly to ensure mass allocations, parent values and content sets impacted by such changes are kept Perform all work in an independent manner and ensure compliance with departmental quality standards for timeliness, accuracy, presentation format, and documentation. MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONSAppropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on equivalent basis Education: Bachelor's Degree with an accounting and information systems emphasis. Experience: Requires five years of job related experience. Certifications/Licenses: None KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIESRequires business experience with exposure to automated financial accounting software in performing general accounting activities or a systems implementation. General accounting experience would include work, such as spreadsheet analysis, journal entry preparation or chart of account maintenance, which would require knowledge of and daily interaction with an automated general ledger system and related financial reports. Systems implementation experience would include financial system configuration, testing and report development. Strong analytical and project management skills. Strong organizational, time management, prioritization, and documentation skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization.
