The ideal individual will supervise the day-to-day operations of the patient service, registration and reception functions ensuring effective and efficient operation from staff members and prompt provision of service to patients and visitors. In this position, you will be able to be at your best in a fast-paced environment focused on teamwork and putting the patient first. Imagine yourself… Supervising the day-to-day activities of the reception, registration and scheduling functions to ensure a high level of productivity. Providing for ample staffing and coverage within areas of responsibility. Monitoring staff interactions and documentation for quality assurance. Establishing and maintaining physician schedules. Ensuring accurate compilation of patient registration information, including data related to patient demographics, third party insurance information and referral data. Supporting the planning, organizing, and implementation of system changes and improvements. Serving as a resource for staff in resolving complex patient questions, concerns and issues. Working closely with leadership and staff to resolve patient concerns and complaints. In collaboration with manager, developing, updating and implementing policies and procedures to ensure safe and efficient flow of operations. Collaborating with clinical leadership and other site management to provide pertinent information for the purpose of patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, insurance billing and day-to-day problem solving. *Working collaboratively with staff, providers, leads, and other supervisory personnel. Representing the department at intradepartmental meetings and functions. *Providing input into the operating, personnel and capital budget processes for areas of responsibility and is accountable for operating within that budget. *Performing human resource responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, salary adjustments, resolution of employee concerns, disciplinary counseling, terminations, and employee morale. Skills / Requirements
General Qualifications
*High school diploma or equivalent. *Knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform this job are typically acquired through a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in customer service for a large or multi-site physician practice that includes experiences in automated patient registration, physician referral processes and third party insurance guidelines. *Proficient computer skills; in the use of physician practice management software applications for scheduling and registration, Microsoft Office Suite or similar products, and electronic mail. *Ability to multi-task and manage projects accurately and efficiently. *Excellent leadership, organization, and human relations skills. *Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of patients, visitors, staff and leadership. *Exceptional customer service and problem resolution skills.
