The Cancer Services Program Coordinator coordinates efforts of an interdisciplinary care team to plan individualized patient care and to improve the quality of practice and clinical-care outcomes for our breast cancer patients. They also assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of treatment plans and clinical trials. Evaluating, refining and integrating pertinent research findings into nursing practice. Imagine yourself… Collaborating with appropriate health care professionals to design, develop and implement programs, services, technologies, and treatments. Collaborating with nursing colleagues in the development and implementation of research studies in assigned disease specialty area . Collaborating with Cancer Care Coordinators to schedule tests and procedures for patients participating in treatment plans and/or clinical trials according to protocol design. Promoting and working to increase awareness of clinical trials to Care Coordinators, patients, and families. Coordinating and providing education to health related professionals regarding treatment plans and/or clinical trials. Skills / Requirements
General Qualifications
*Current Registered Nurse (RN) license granted by the State of Wisconsin. *Bachelor's degree in nursing. Master's preferred *Knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform this job are typically acquired through five years of progressively responsible experience in clinical nursing and three years of progressively responsible experience in patient care, teaching, management of patients and families in oncology nursing. *Proficient with advanced software applications unique to the department, i.e., graphics, data reporting, etc. *Ability to interact on a scientific level with medical staff, community physicians and representatives of national pharmaceutical groups. *Demonstrated effective leadership and good communication skills. *Demonstrates excellent analytical skills. Desired Qualifications *OCN certification preferred. *Prefer oncology experience with breast cancer patients. .
