Job Description

Imagine yourself working with this team… The Women's Health Clinic at Aurora Sinai Medical Center is currently seeking a Registered Nurse Lead to work in our highly collaborative and leading edge environment.

Due to our commitment to shared governance and shared decision-making, the Registered Nurse Team Lead provides direct patient care, provides professional and organizational leadership to effectively guide the quality of patient care in collaboration with Medical Center staff. They provide daily work direction and guidance to department-based staff and coordinates and evaluates the activities of the nursing, clerical, and support. Imagine yourself… *Providing leadership and guidance to healthcare learners in the academic clinic setting including: documentation, appropriate billing for services, teaching and role modeling, providing guidance to learners, teaching learners how to access and utilize community resources across the continuum of care.
*Coordinating and evaluating care/service provided by department-based nurses, medical assistants, radiology technologists, promoting an atmosphere of learning and professional development.
*Participating in the development and evaluation of mandatory department based in-service education sessions and competency training. Participating in the identification and development of annual staff education plan, both system and department.
*Providing consultation and triage over the telephone and in person to patients, family and others according to clinic policies and procedures.
*Assisting the manager with human resources responsibilities for staff, which may include: interviewing and selection of new employees, staff development, performance evaluation feedback, resolution of employee concerns, and employee morale.



Skills / Requirements
General Qualifications

*Current Registered Nurse (RN) license granted by the State of Wisconsin.
*Knowledge of nursing, equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regionally accredited bachelor's degree program.
*Ability to evaluate own decision-making and judgment. Engages in professional development activities to increase the quality of these decisions. Recognizes knowledge of self to maintain objective and separate personal feelings within ethical/moral situations.
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
*Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft office products (word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations), electronic mail and electronic medical record systems.
*Demonstrated leadership skills (such as: delegation, organization and team building).


Desired Qualifications

*Knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform this job are typically acquired through five years of progressively responsible experience in nursing that includes experiences in a complex specialty clinic setting. Academic clinic experience preferred.
