Job Description

Imagine yourself

*Using the Nursing Process to provide ongoing care (assess, plan, intervention, evaluation).

*Assessing patient, family and/or significant others training needs and provides teaching/counseling.

*Anticipating and recognizing changes in the patient's status and need for care.

*Determining priorities of patient care based on essential patient needs and available resources.

*Integrating health promotion and preventive aspects of care.

*Providing telephone consultation/triage to patient, family, and significant others according to the protocols in place. Updating protocols as needed.

*Developing and implementing protocol for telephone consultation/triage.

*Assuring quality of care through development, implementation and evaluation of professional nursing standards.

*Participating in quality assurance activities.

*Assisting in development and implementation of staff orientation and educational activities.

*Demonstrating leadership by role modeling, appropriate decision making, and professionalism.

*Taking initiative to assist coworkers and personnel to achieve effective workload.

*Demonstrating effective time management in the performance of assigned duties.

*Maintaining and updates clinical skills by attending 90% of the staff meetings and in-services. Updating clinical teaching knowledge and skills as indicated by clinic or community need.

General Qualifications

*Current Registered Nurse license granted by the State of Wisconsin.

*Minimum five years of nursing experience with a minimum of two years in hands on patient care setting.

*Previous clinic experience preferred.

*CPR certification required within six months of employment.

*Working knowledge of computers.

*Good verbal and written skills.

*Must cooperate with co-workers and have a positive attitude with patients and visitors.
