As a Manager Patient Care imagine yourself...

* Maintaining an optimal level of productivity based on the coordination of an efficient staffing pattern 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
*Working collaboratively with unit and organizational resource people in identifying and promoting staff development. Directing employees to resources for achievement of their identified individual goals.
*Provides for the development, maintenance, supervision and evaluation of orientation programs and continuing education programs for unit personnel.
*Serving as a consultant and resource person to provide optimal patient care. Evaluating the quality of patient care provided by all area personnel in collaboration with unit and organization resource people. Reviewing and approves all policies/procedures which are in compliance with those of the hospital, the Nursing Department, and regulatory agencies. Communicating and promoting new approaches and concepts in nursing practice.
*Practicing service management and guest relations philosophies when dealing with patients, families, hospital departments and medical staff and promotes these philosophies with department staff. Acting as liaison between the medical staff and the professional nursing staff. Serving as a problem solver, mediator and catalyst for positive change, develops and maintains effective intra and inter departmental relationships.
*Being responsible for understanding and adhering to the Aurora Health Care Code of Excellence and for ensuring personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws that affect Aurora's business.



Skills / Requirements
General Qualifications

* Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) granted by the State of Wisconsin.
*Minimum five (5) years recent experience in nursing and a minimum three (3) years in an LDRP environment required.
*Minimum one (1) year of leadership experience.
*Must have exposure to and understanding of basic managerial skills, with a strong aptitude in human resource management.
*Must remain current in management concepts, clinical knowledge, and hospital policies and procedures.
