As Manager of Health Information Services, imagine yourself *Managing Health Information Services including functions of Record Completion in compliance with Medical Staff Rules & Regulations and JCAHO requirements, Record Access & Retention functions, Release of Information, Imaging Capture, Master Patient Index, and adherence to various internal and external compliance issues (Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules & Regulations, JCAHO, OSHA, HFS 124, etc.). Assures that the medical record is kept confidential, secure, current, authenticated, legible and complete. *Serving as a resource for JCAHO Management of Information standards as well as those standards pertaining to documentation in medical records, HCFA, Wisconsin Statutes, and federal regulations. Assists in the preparation and during various inspections and surveys. *Developing and standardizing systems, policies, and procedures to enhance quality, consistency, efficiency, and timeliness of site-specific functions and oversees performance standards on quality, service, and productivity. *Planning, directing, organizing, standardizing, implementing and controlling the operational aspects of the formal and non-formal site-specific clinical data registry functions, including but not limited to mandated and ad hoc data collection and reporting for cancer, perinatal and other clinical data management studies as required by institutional, corporate, local, state or national requirements. *Overseeing and standardizing site-specific functions of data collection, management, reporting, maintenance and compliance in accordance with internal and external requirements and various agencies that are applicable to the registries. Skills / Requirements
General Qualifications
*Credential of RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) with a minimum of four years managerial or supervisory experience in a high volume, multifaceted healthcare setting or an RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) with at least six years of managerial or supervisory experience in a high volume, multifaceted healthcare setting. *Current knowledge of statutory requirements and accreditations by the various agencies applicable to the registries (American College of Surgeons, Department of Health and Family Services, Bureau of Vital Statistics, Wisconsin Cancer Reporting System and the Food and Drug Administration.) * Proven skills in leadership, team building, system integration and conversion, quality improvement techniques and excellent customer service. *Excellent verbal, listening, presentation, and written communication skills.
