Job Description

*Performing internal audits of varying complexity following predefined audit programs. Identifying, documenting, and analyzing audit findings and assisting in the development of audit programs that address and test identified key risks. Conducting follow-up audits and monitoring to ensure appropriate adherence to policies and procedures.

*Monitoring compliance with regulations and controls by examining and analyzing records, reports, operating practices, and documentation.

*Evaluating opportunities for improvement, developing recommendations, and presenting improvement opportunities/audit findings to leadership.

*Guiding and educating departments on methods to decrease risk and increase compliance in organizational-wide programs, policies, and procedures.

*Assisting the independent external auditors by gathering information, answering questions, coordinating any further assistance needed, and performing related projects.

General Qualifications

*Knowledge of finance or accounting, equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regionally accredited Bachelor's degree program.

*Knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform this job are typically acquired through two years of progressively responsible experience in auditing with experience in identifying, documenting, and analyzing audit findings, and recommending opportunities for improvement.

*Ability to discern specific departmental & organizational needs and requirements for improvement in operations and internal/system controls.

*Knowledge and understanding of the application of accounting, financial and operating controls.

*Proven ability to evaluate proposed and existing systems.

*Ability to plan and organize work in a fast paced environment. Ability to function independently.

*Proven ability to communicate with all levels of management.

*Proficiency in the Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar products. Ability to learn new applications.

*Understanding of the organization as a whole and its complexities to assist in planning audits and special projects. Ability to successfully plan and complete new projects that have never been tried or tested before.
