Job Description

Imagine yourself working with this team… At Aurora Health Care our Clinical Systems Analyst serves as a liaison between clinical operations, information services, system users, and vendors, and acts as a consultant on moderately complex issues related to the application.. Imagine yourself… *Conducting clinical operational/technical needs and workflow analysis, and preliminary cost impact analyses in an effort to align information technology with practical business inititatives as well as formulate practical requirements for operational improvements.
*Ensuring successful implementation, administration, and documentation of new and existing clinical applications.
*Proactively monitoring/evaluating the effectiveness of applications and systems. Recommending new applications/ design modifications to enhance clinical operational needs.
*Designing queries and documents and maintaining complex reports to meet users' needs. Proactively anticipating reporting needs, and making suggestions for value added data.
*Developing, implementing, and and assisting in evaluating clinical information systems smaller or moderately complex projects, timelines, and budgets.
*Consulting with providers, leadership, physicians, and other clinicians to identify problems and resolutions related to clinical equipment, applications, networks, and functions.



Skills / Requirements
General Qualifications

*Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License.
*Minimum three years of nursing experience.
*Knowledge of the clinical specialty in the function/area support equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regionally accredited associate's or bachelor's degree program.
*Knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform this job are typically acquired through 2 to 5 years of progressively responsible experience in clinical information systems applications and 5 years of related clinical experience in the function/area supported that includes end user experience with similar clinical applications, functioning as the interface between clinicians and other technical experts, providing operational support for clinical systems, analyzing business and clinical processes, and providing user training/education.
*Current licensure or certification in the area or function supported may be required.
*Demonstrated analytical skills necessary to make sound recommendations based on data analysis, and clinical user needs, assuring maximum productivity, and continuous process improvement. Demonstrated ability to translate user requirements into system specifications.
* General knowledge of computer operating platforms, applications software, and network software.
*Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access) or similar products and experience with large scale automated systems. Ability to prepare, import, and manipulate information in spreadsheets and databases.
*Demonstrated experience working with clinical and technical customers, vendors, peers, and management. Demonstrated success and experience building relationships with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians as well.
*Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations related to information security and confidentiality.
* Demonstrated strength in presenting to groups and senior leadership.
* Experience training staff and leadership system wide on system uses, functionalities, and reporting mechanisms.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks, set appropriate priorities and accomplish assignments in a thorough and timely manner.


Desired Qualifications

*Formal / informal teaching experience.
*BSN preferred.
*Certification in a nursing specialty preferred.
