POSITION: College Librarian
HOURS/STATUS: 40 hrs/week - Afternoon/Evenings/Some weekend hours may be required REPORTS TO: Market Librarian/Deans of Instruction START DATE: TBD LOCATION: Bayshore Campus RESPONSIBILITIES: --Provide reference services to students, faculty, and staff using electronic, print, and Internet resources ---Teach degree courses in information literacy --Plan and deliver bibliographic instruction sessions as needed --Assist students in using research tools, locating on-site and online materials, and using Office programs and student email --Assist in managing campus booklists, maintaining and distributing instructional resources, and supervising student assistants and daily library operations. --Coordinate collection development for the Bayshore campus --Assist in cataloging and processing of new library resources --Keep current by reading professional publications and by participating in conferences and meetings --Collaborate on system wide and campus initiatives in academic library services --Monitor and respond to QuestionPoint inquiries --Complete and maintain a professional portfolio QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES: --MLIS degree from ALA-accredited program --Proficiency with electronic, print, and Internet resources --Demonstrated evidence of excellent organizational, interpersonal, speaking, and writing skills --Ability to work harmoniously with colleagues in a team setting --Ability to handle and coordinate multiple assignments in a fast paced environment --Strong aptitude with and demonstrated knowledge of computers and their application in research --Demonstrated commitment to professional development and student success --Commitment to continuous curriculum enhancement and best practices --Ability to make meaningful and positive connections with diverse student body in a career college environment --Teaching experience or aptitude preferred Application Process: Submit cover letter, resume and unofficial transcripts by November 9, 2009 to: Human Resources Bryant and Stratton College 310 W.
