Job: Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) will work as part of a treatment team to provide occupational therapy, under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist, to Medical Day Treatment clients who are severely emotionally disturbed youth ages 12-17. The COTA will lead groups of youth in activities relating to : Life skills, social skills, critical thinking, safety violence, sensory fine motor, anger management, conflict resolution and team work among others.

This is a part time position (approximately 24 hours per week).

Associates 2 year degree in Occupational Therapy.
Certified by the American occupational therapy association.
Ability to display cultural competence by responding respectfully and effectively to people of all cultures, languages, classes, races, ethnic backgrounds, religions and other diversity factors in a manner that recognizes, affirms and values the worth of individuals, families and communities and protects and preserves the dignity of each.
1 year prior experience with mentally ill children/adolescents.
Attention to detail and good organization skills.
Good verbal and written skills required.
