Job Description

Better Choice... Better Career... Better Life... Join our award winning team! Assists the registered Pharmacist in preparation and dispensing of medications per written order of a physician. Performs duties as courier for the Pharmacy. Answers the Pharmacy telephone, triaging calls to the appropriate individual. Completes PRN cards and Stats and setting them aside for checking by a Pharmacist, typing Road Maps and having them reviewed by a Pharmacist. Processes delivered wholesale orders. Responsible for adhering to established Service Standards. and Service Management Standards. Performs monthly inspections of stock areas, maintains drug cabinets in a neat and orderly manner, removes outdated and unusable items, and assists in notifying Central Pharmacy of special packaging needs. Collects patient information, including allergies, and enters information into the computerized pharmacy information system. Responsible for medication data entry in the pharmacy computer system. Responsible for medication dose conformation and I.V. solution reconciliation. Processes necessary records when patient rooms are changed and when they are discharged. Exchanges medication drawers, and assesses and replenishes stock supplies on nursing units according to set standards.


Skills / Requirements
General Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Pharmacy experience and/or completion of a pharmacy technician training program preferred. Pharmaceutical/medical terminology preferred. Personal computer software and/or mainframe experience. Demonstrated math skills.
