Jobing Description
Position: Health Services Administration Program Director
Hours/Status: Full Time/Exempt 40-hours
Start Date: December 1, 2009
Reports To: Deans of Instruction
Location: Milwaukee Market

Responsibilities:
--Responsible for oversight and program effectiveness of the bachelor’s degree in Health Services Administration including the development and monitoring of course blueprints designed to meet program outcomes, program administration, continuous quality review, strategic planning and resource development.
--Participate in the hiring and maintaining of an adequate pool of properly credentialed faculty, scheduling, development, evaluation, and termination of subject-area instructors for the bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration.
--Evaluate, coach, and develop faculty with respect to department expectations, classroom performance, course development, and rigor
--Collaborate with Medical Assisting (MA), Medical Administrative Assisting (MAA), and Nursing (NURS) program directors to ensure effective use and sharing of personnel and physical resources common to all three programs
--Participate in Influencer Relations Activities including, but not limited to, active participation in related professional associations, and building business connects in the community
--Ensure the timely and accurate completion and submission of all government, accrediting agency, and campus/ systems reports.
--Collaborate with the MA and MAA program directors to meet and exceed program accreditation standards and thresholds of any CAAHEP Standards and Guidelines for Medical Assisting Educational Programs shared with the associate degree courses and programs.
--Assist in developing appropriate internship sites as necessary and provide oversight of the internship experience including on-site assessment of student experiences and quality of learning opportunities
--Ensure that all subject-area instructors utilize current and appropriate technology to achieve course goals and objectives
--Support and constructively contribute to campus decision-making processes including the Institutional Effectiveness Plan (IEP), system-wide strategic plan, as well as local campus or program-level initiatives
--Interact with community/professional influences to increase awareness of program standards, quality initiatives for student development and placement.
--Serve on college committees as needed and participate in campus events
--Teach in area of expertise as needed
--Model lifelong learning and ensure program quality through continuous professional development and maintenance of a professional teaching portfolio
--Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:
--PhD in Healthcare Administration or closely related field with appropriate nationally recognized professional certification or licensure
--Instruction in educational theory and techniques
--Must have a minimum of three (3) years experience in healthcare administration and/ or management.
--Must have teaching experience in postsecondary and/or vocational/technical education.
--Demonstrated leadership skills, integrity, and ethical practice with emphasis on problem solving, conflict management, adaptability, creativity, and sensitivity to diversity
--Willingness to self-assess, take feedback, and incorporate results into practice
--Ability to recognize and proactively address areas of opportunity and challenge
--Proven administrative, strategic thinking and organizational skills
--Excellent oral and written communication skills
--Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Internet applications
--Proven ability to function as a member of a team within established college, state, federal, and accrediting agency regulations, policies and procedures
