Job: CNC Programmer/Operator

CNC Programmer/Operator wanted for High end Architectural pattern shop to program and operate 5-axis CNC machine to layout and machining precision wood pieces used in making molds. The Operator will work from blueprints and/or shop drawings to determine the size and position of cuts, select appropriate cutting tools, and calculate the feed and cutting speed rates. In addition to setting up and running the CNC machine, the Operator will be responsible for writing and debugging programs, ensuring the piece meets specifications, maintaining the equipment and assembling parts as necessary.

About the Opportunity:

• Program 5-axis CNC Machine using Alphacam, Windoor, and Genesis software.
• Set-up and operate multi axis CNC Machine.
• Complete a full inspection of part features being programmed.
• Ability to read, follow, and create production set-up and tooling sheets.
• Create parts from engineering drawings and blue-prints.
• Keep accurate records pertaining to daily work and output.
• Perform housekeeping and preventive maintenance as directed.
• Follow all company policies with special attention to safety, quality control, regulatory, and materials handling.
• Order and/or request tools as required.
• Directly responsible for tools and materials as they are related to jobs under his/her control
• Troubleshoot machining problems
• Contribute to pattern shop regulatory and QC procedures and functions

Job Requirements:

• 3-5 years experience in CNC Programming
• Able to lead people and facilitate teamwork
• Knowledge and experience with manufacturing environments.
• Experienced in wood working equipment and operations
• Know tool selection and cutting tool geometry
• Able to keep detailed records and correctly fill out procedural documents
• Mathematics, geometry and advanced algebra (formulas)
• HS grad or GED (some college preferred)

Working Knowledge of the following preferred:

Cabinet-making and Pattern-making skills
Experience with the Following Software: Alphacam, Cabinet Vision, Windoor, Genesis
and/or AutoCAD
