Position Description

Our client is in need of a Start Up Electrical Controls Engineer who will be primarily working under a Project Engineer learning all facets of start up and service of converting equipment. Products are custom produced to engineering specifications as to design and application and must comply with rigid and exacting requirements. This person may have the opportunity to move into a Controls Engineering position. Performs the following duties:

Assist in preliminary or start up of equipment at customer locations. Analyze operating problems and determine action necessary to bring unit up to specifications. May review and discuss possible engineering changes with engineering staff.

Prepare and document electrical set up procedures and processes and in conjunction with engineering develop or modify programming needs.

Draft using CAD schematics and layouts for controls, instruments, and systems for converting industry machinery under the guidance of a project engineer. Systems will typically be for electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls; drive systems; and dryer controls.

Ideal candidate will have a B.S. degree in electronics or electrical engineering or equivalence of two year associate degree in industrial electronics and PLC knowledge and basic electronic engineering coatings and processes. Requires broad and general experience in industrial electronics, PLC and AC/DC drives of up to five years to become proficient.
