Employment Term: Regular Employment Type: Full Time Hours per Week: 40-50 Work Hours (i.e. shift): 1st Start Date: ASAP Starting Salary Range: DOE Salary/Benefit Notes: Salary plus travel pay incentives Required Education: Associate Degree Required Experience: 3 to 20+ years Related Categories: Engineering - General, Engineering - Mechanical, Maintenance - Machines Position Description Field Service Installation/ Start-up Engineer (Electro-Mechanical) Due to expanding electro-hydraulic business, our client is seeking additional mechanical installation / start-up engineers for large systems work. Extensive international travel (50-70%). Will fly out of Milwaukee. Majority of time in customers' plants installing and starting up large industrial electro/hydraulic integrated systems. Will work in-plant testing systems when not traveling. Requirements: * Three years industrial experience * Previous experience with international field service required * FPA Fluid power specialist certificate or AS in Fluid Power or Mechanical Technology * Hydraulic troubleshooting experience * Piping & tubing fabrication experience Following experience preferred: * Troubleshooting and start-up of the following presses: forge, aluminum or Copper extrusion, deep draw, particle board, SMC, ASEE or equivalent * Thorough knowledge of current Allen Bradley PLC's * Ability to program logic on any Allen Bradley products * Network experience Installation Phase * Supervise personnel from all trades groups to install equipment * Rig heavy pieces safely * Locate large items precisely * Engineer changes as necessary * Experience with pipe welding and tube bending essential * Knowledge of hardware for standard SAE, and DIN Flanges, forged fittings, specialty flanges and tube fittings as well as BSPP, BSP, NPT, JIS, and metric straight and flared thread * Compression fitting, and welded tube expected * Ability to use volt-ohm-millammeter and perform basic wiring * Will read electrical prints/schematics as necessary * Compose daily and weekly written reports * Produce installation that is square with proper fitting Start-up Phase * Site safety final inspection of the installation * Troubleshoot all components and be able to disassemble, clean & re-assemble * Strong all-around mechanical aptitude / ability * Must know proper reservoir design, shaft alignment procedures * Will be trained on electrical side to independently do entire start-up including PLC programming, and MCC start-up. Starting salary in the $50's/k range.
