Assistant to the Commercial Lending Credit Officer


I) Position Summary


Support the Regional Credit Officer in the administration of the credit quality of the Region's Commercial Lending activity. Primary duties include reporting and verification of reports, compliance reporting, and working with auditors.


II) Major Areas of Accountability


A. Support the Regional Credit Officer in the administration of the business portfolio of the Region in order to achieve the desired results of quality, profitability, and growth.




B. Prepare and distribute monthly and quarterly credit quality reports and review work submitted by others for accuracy.



C. Prepare Community Reinvestment Act reporting and review Home Mortgage Disclosure Act reporting for accuracy. Act as a trainer for Commercial staff on federal regulations.



D. Work with the audit staff to provide requested information including internal departments such as Loan Review, Compliance, Internal Audit and external auditors including CPA's, the OCC, the Federal Home Loan Bank and the Federal Reserve.



E. Work closely with other departments and the Regional Credit officer to monitor inspection of credit files and loan systems information to ensure accuracy of data .



III) Minimum Qualifications

Education

Required:


* Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related training

Work Experience

Required:


* Three or more years experience in a commercial lending department (CRE and/or C & I)

* Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities under time constraints

* Strong verbal and written communication skills

* Good problem solving, decision-making, and analytical skills

* Detail oriented

* Ability to operate loan systems for information

* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office desktop applications, Commercial Loan Systems.



Preferred:


* Proficient use of Hyperion and Crystal Reports.

* Good knowledge of banking regulations

V) Physical Demands/Working Conditions

Ability to lift heavy loan files and binders and reach to upper and lower shelves for files and binders.
