Position: Associate Nursing Academic Program Director
Hours/Status: Full Time/Exempt 40-hours Start Date: December 1, 2009 Reports To: Deans of Instruction/ Nursing Academic Program Director Location: Wauwatosa Campus Responsibilities: -Assists Nursing Academic Program Director in providing oversight for Nursing faculty and staff, curriculum development, resource management, and program planning and implementation. -Assist the Nursing Academic Program Director with the selection, training, scheduling, evaluating, coaching, and mentoring of Nursing faculty and staff with respect to department expectations, classroom performance, course development, and rigor -Advise Nursing Academic Program Director on program areas of interest, i.e. industry trends; program statistics, analysis, and recommendations; clinical considerations, opportunities, and appropriateness; student performance; areas of concern, etc. -Assists Nursing Program Director with workload assignments and scheduling of theory and clinical courses. -Works with the Nursing Clinical Coordinator in development of new clinical placement sites, continuing placement sites, and preceptors for students. -Achieve and maintain program retention and course success goals. -Research and analyze data to identify field, market, and campus trends -Collaborate with Nursing Academic Program Director to establish and maintain a system to ensure the timely and accurate completion and submission of facility, campus, system, government and accrediting agency reports related to the Nursing program. -Participate in Influencer Relations Activities with healthcare facilities including, but not limited to, active participation in related professional associations, and building business connects in the community -Work with faculty and lab staff to provide recommendations to the Nursing Program Director concerning the procurement and upkeep of subject-specific hardware, software, lab supplies and equipment, and other media -Serve on college committees as needed and participate in campus events -Teach in area of clinical expertise as needed -Model lifelong learning and ensure program quality through continuous professional development and maintenance of a professional teaching portfolio -Other responsibilities as assigned Qualifications: -Minimum of Master’s degree in Nursing with appropriate nationally recognized professional certification or licensure required; doctoral degree or significant progress towards doctoral degree preferred -Five (5) years teaching experience in higher education setting; instruction in educational theory and techniques preferred -Must have a minimum of two (2) calendar years work experience as a nurse -Expertise in a clinical area -Experience in publication and/ or grantsmanship -Demonstrated leadership skills, integrity, and ethical practice with emphasis on problem solving, conflict management, adaptability, creativity, and sensitivity to diversity -Ability to recognize and proactively address areas of opportunity and challenge -Proven administrative, strategic thinking and organizational skills -Excellent oral and written communication skills -Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Internet applications -Proficiency with other technologies currently used in Nursing profession -Proven ability to function as a member of a team within established college, state, federal, and accrediting agency regulations, policies and procedures -Demonstrated commitment to professional development, student success, and campus culture and values To Apply: Submit cover letter, resume, unofficial transcripts, and teaching philosophy by November 1, 2009 to: Bryant and Stratton College 310 W.
