Job: Bank Teller (part-time)

The position of Customer Service Representative is responsible for performing bank teller functions, providing basic cash receipts and payment services in accordance with financial institution procedures. The Customer Service Representative’s primary objective is to build customer confidence and trust by performing transactions in a professional manner.

DETAILS:
This part-time position will average 20-25 hours per week. Schedule will typically be Monday through Friday from 2:15 to 6:15 p.m. and alternating Saturday mornings.

POSITION EXPECTATIONS:

Promptly smiles and greets customers. Uses their name, if known, to make them feel welcome

Handles various customer transactions with accuracy, confidentiality and enthusiasm. These transactions can include, but are not limited to: cash handling, deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, bond orders and redemption, check cashing, official checks, money orders, closing accounts, travelers checks, processing of counter checks and general ledger debits/credits, packaging coins and currency, logging and processing night depository bags, and placing check holds.

Demonstrates high accuracy and efficiency in all work, even during peak volume.

Abides by established audit guidelines; maintains proper cash drawer limits; uses proper work order, accurate transaction codes, and cash handling procedures.

Abides by security guidelines; follows opening and closing procedures, locks workstation, verifies customer id, account balances and endorsements, and secures confidential information.

Balances cash drawer at the end of the shift and compares totaled amounts to computer generated proof sheet. Reports any discrepancies to the supervisor as necessary.

Supports bank office sales by learning the products and services of the Bank. Provide client referrals for new products and services.

Makes concentrated effort to resolve issues or refer to appropriate employee to guarantee customer satisfaction and retention.

Ensures that the teller station is properly stocked with forms, supplies, etc.

Reports malfunctions of teller terminals and other equipment used at the teller station.

Supports all bank marketing campaigns and promotions in a positive manner.

Other duties may be assigned as deemed appropriate.

High school diploma or GED

Six months or more related experience in providing exceptional customer service

Six months or more of cash handling experience

Possesses basic keyboarding skills and the ability to navigate in a Windows environment

Ability to lift and carry a weight of up to 50 pounds for a short period of time

Ability to stand for long periods of time

Previous banking experience preferred
