A rapidly growing technology and services firm seeks qualified candidates to join our team. The ideal candidate will support the production environments to ensure high availability, reliability, scalability, backup and recovery as well as performance tuning where necessary.

Job Description
SUMMARY:
This person is responsible for the modeling, implementation and administration of database servers as well as assisting in making and implementing recommendations concerning database related components to support our development efforts. The position requires the person to function as a team player knowing the importance of their position and must understand how their actions affect the business. The person must work cooperatively and collaboratively as part of a cross-functional technical team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Others duties may be assigned.
X Design, create, test, and implement database and business intelligence solutions to meet the needs of the organization, including but not limited to Multidimensional Data Cubes (OLAP), Relational Databases, and Stored Procedures.
X Manage and Create database schemas for Relational Database Systems (optimize index creation, table creation, storage allocations, etc.)
X Assist with the monitoring of the Production Database and optimize stored procedures for better performance. Resolve locking conflicts and resource utilization.
X Assist with the development of and implementation of replication, archiving and backup and recovery strategies.
X Successfully manage multiple projects and tasks at one time.
X Troubleshoot problems and resolves them quickly meeting the internal and external users needs.
X Communicates complex technology and general information to everyone involved on project in clear and concise manner based on the audience level.
X Follows through on commitments, communicating status to involved users and management.
X Takes an active role in continuing to educate self on new technologies and skill sets.
X Accepts challenges in areas that are unfamiliar territory.

Desired Profile
The candidate must be able to work under tight deadlines, and work well independently as well as in a team environment in addition to the following;
X 6 years plus experience working within a MS SQL environment as a Database Administrator
X Experience with large databases with high transaction volume in a fast-paced, production environment.
X Experience with SQL Server Clustering and Replication
X Candidate must have strong project management, team, and communication skills.
X Must be available for off-hour emergency calls and consultations.

Professional Qualifications:
BS Graduates in Computer Science or related degree and relevant experience.
