We have a great Milwaukee opportunity for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team, which supports a system of over 10,000 employees throughout Wisconsin. In this role you'll have the opportunity to excel in a professional, customer service oriented team of Payroll experts.


You will manage the front end process (time collection through gross to net calculations) of 17 biweekly payrolls for Ministry Health Care, as well as perform centralized payroll processing. Entry will include all aspects of time and attendance including PTO adjustments and calculations, off cycle check processing, retro pay calculations, prior pay period adjustments (calculation and entry), timekeeper access, expense and mileage reimbursements, bonus payments, severance pay, wage assignments, resolution of G/L issues and provider pay.


Your day to day responsibilities will be to:

Run payroll close process each pay period (centralized payroll processing) in coordination with other HR users, IT, DTC and HRIS.
Research and respond to HR/Payroll processing inquires.
Enter accurate wage assignments.
Review transactions from Time and Attendance system to ensure correct payments.
Run gross to net pay calculations.
Run reports for payroll, benefit, tax, and exception purposes.
Balance payrolls and enter any adjustments.
Coordinate flow of information to Finance including biweekly, monthly, quarterly and year end processing information.
Apply basic knowledge of FLSA, garnishment and tax laws, and regulations regarding wage assignments.
Run and review transaction audit reports.
Test system upgrades and implement processing improvements.
Train teammates as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Skills / Requirements

To be qualified role you MUST have the following:


· Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills.

· An Associates Degree or Equivalent experience.

· At least three years of payroll experience, demonstrating a high degree of accuracy.

· Must have experience writing ad hoc reports, preferably in Access.

· High level of communication and computer skills required (Excel, Word and Access).

· Moderate level of analytical skills.

· Experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
