Department: TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH UNIT - 66100

Position Location: Froedtert Hospital

On Call?:

Responsible for all aspects of patient care for a selected group of patients. Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through completion of a program at an accredited School of Nursing. Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin. Good interpersonal analytical verbal and written skills.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through completion of a minimum of two years education at an accredited School of Nursing in order to be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse.

Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin.

Is able to deliver care in multiple environments, including, but not limited to, the community, clinics, inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and the operating/recovery room,

Efficiently carries out basic lab drawing, infusion, and IV placement independently of ancillary help.

Ability to drive independently to community sites to participate in community protocols as needed

Valid driver's license and proof of insurance annually to the department manager.

Working Conditions:

Clinic setting with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, and temperature variations.

Community setting environment that may include other clinics, participant's homes, local meeting places, and other community landmarks.

Traveling between locations in a vehicle with risk of exposure of inclement weather

Other clinics and departments within Froedtert Hospital after adequate orientation is provided.

Frequent exposure to communicable diseases (up to fifty percent of work time) and moderately adverse working conditions due to performance of certain patient care activities.

Frequent exposure to blood and body fluids. Adherence to standard precautions minimizes risk.

Driving a vehicle or sitting in a vehicle for long or short distances
