Job Description

Imagine yourself working with this team… At Aurora Health Care our MRI Technologists perform magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations of patients as requested by referring physicians. They perform basic, advanced, and specialized MRI procedures. They explain MRI procedure to patients, assuring safety of patients, reviewing images to confirm that they meet requirements of radiologist, and preparing files and reports. Imagine yourself… *Reviewing patient's medical history prior to performing MRI procedure. Positioning patient on examination table and monitoring patient's condition during examination.
*Selecting appropriate imaging techniques, and operating console and peripheral hardware. Entering and monitoring patient data. Transfering images from disk to magnetic media to produce transparency.
*Performing basic, advanced, and specialized MRI procedures.
*Basic: knees, lumbar spine, thoracic spine, cervical spine, shoulder, head, IAC, and hip.*Advanced: orbits, patellar tracking, feet, MRA head & carotid, ankle, liver, wrist, abdomen, elbow, chest, neck (Ca), TMJ, breast, and hand*Specialized: spectroscopy, diffusion, perfusion, pancreas, MRCP, and Leg Run Off
*Assisting in the following; in administering prepared contrast media, in the didactic and clinical instruction of other technologists and students, and in development and integration of advanced imaging techniques.

General Qualifications

*Current certification as a MRI Technologist granted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
*Knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform this job are typically acquired through a minimum of one year of progressively responsible experience in clinical magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
*Certification in CPR.
*Working knowledge of computers and proficient computer skills.
*Excellent communication and patient care skills.
*Must be knowledgeable of vascular anatomy to perform IVI (Interactive Vascular Imaging), knowledgeable of. CO2 monitor, cardiac monitor, and gating system, and knowledgeable of Advantage Windows (GE only) Workstation.
