Project Mission
To increase the exchange of information and application of successful practices used by employers in Wisconsin to enhance employing persons with disabilities.
WorkSource Wisconsin's Service to Employers
WorkSource Wisconsin is coordinating outreach efforts to businesses in Wisconsin through a collaborative statewide training and technical assistance approach that responds to the expressed needs of employers. For the past several months, WorkSource Wisconsin has been conducting employer surveys and interviews with public, private, and private non profit employers from around the state. To date, over 600 surveys have been analyzed and more data continues to arrive daily. The purpose of this research is to learn more about employer’s needs and interests surrounding the employment of persons with a disability which has resulted in the development of targeted training programs.
Project Overview & Objectives
WorkSource Wisconsin is being developed as a ‘resource for employers by employers’ to provide easy access to the information necessary to actively recruit, hire, and retain employees with disabilities. The Center will offer a significant number of services to businesses in Wisconsin by utilizing:
- A targeted regional inputting mechanism to identify locally specific needs of under-represented businesses
- Input from a state-wide, cross-section of employers in Wisconsin including employers of varying sizes, geographic locations and industries
- A collaborative statewide training and technical assistance approach
