Blog Post: Working at BuyCostumes.com (BuySeasons)

posted Friday, August 29, 2008 6:56 AM

It's the time of the week that just about everyone must face at some point - time to go to work. You get up, do your daily routine, and for some reason hope that the rush hour traffic won't be as bad today as it has been the past however many thousands of times the same route has been taken. No matter what the job, there are many nuisances that are inevitable. I have however been able to change a few routine things that used to aggravate me, and those positive changes came upon entering the doors at BuyCostumes.com.

In the past, I used to feel like every job simply considered me a number, or some figure in which I was analyzed and reconstructed to do the most possible amount of work for the pay I was receiving. The problem with this style of management is that, the morale of the employee is deteriorated to such an extent that the motivation is no longer there. At BuySeasons (BuyCostumes.com) I have finally found a position, and a company that is able to recognize me as a human being, and not just some machine that is programmed to engage in a monstrous inhumane workload. Sure, I hold a position in which I have duties to perform and am expected to do them accurately and efficiently like any other job, but the demeanor of the people here is truthfully something that surpasses any position I have held thus far, and gives me one key factor I've never felt at any other job: motivation.

Where does this motivation come from? It comes from people above you, and sometimes far above you, recognizing you as another person at the company. You're never just doing that position, you are simply another member and friend added to the team here at BuyCostumes.com. For me, a company that values input from someone on the "lowest" scale, just as much as someone from the "higher" scales; shows how much integrity this company truly has.

I'm not here to tell you this job is going to be a cake walk, as with almost any position, there will be times where it will get a little stressful and involve sharp problem solving skills, and the ability to rely on team members to assist you. What will make it less stressful during these fairly rare occasions, is that you know the people here are looking up to you with the highest expectations and positivism possible.

Not only would I recommend in this blog that you work at this company, I wouldn't even hesitate to refer a friend seeking a job here as well. I hope you will apply for a position here, and it would be even better if you met me at some point while working here and were able to tell me "Hey, you were right."
