-Ensure that daily care of students, parents and guests is first priority.
-Monitor and direct students and parents entering the school building, monitor and direct during drop off and dismissals Monday-Friday at YLA. -Maintain order, assist members and aid other staff with supervision and duties. Specific focus on safety and supervision of youth in the facility. -Make security checks of hallways, rooms, playground, and parking lot for violations of security, fire, vandalism and other unusual occurrences. -Contact necessary law enforcement agencies, fire department, etc. in the event of abnormality and/or unusual occurrences and sound alarm as warranted or instructed. -Maintain knowledge of all safety and emergency procedures for facility and act responsible in emergencies. -Apply rules and policies of the YMCA/YLA equally to persons in and/or using the facility. Record unusual events or occurrences and/or inform responsible person as instructed. Skills / Requirements
This position requires a highly responsible person with mature judgment who is courteous, cooperative, and interested in school needs.
Additionally, the candidate will: -Know & observe the best practices for child supervision. -Provide direction and supervision, especially in an emergency situation and is able to promote the YMCA/YLA through his or her actions and interactions. -Possess strong interpersonal skills and able to relate to all age groups: youth, teens, and adults. -Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent and have excellent oral & written skills. -First Aid, CPR, 1st Responder, AED and Oxygen certifications required within 60 days on the job. -Must be responsible for all issued equipment including: keys, radios and uniforms.
