The MRI Technologist - performs all MRI procedures under the direction of a radiologist. Acts as a resource person for MRI technical, and other issues, and demonstrates competence according to specific guidelines and prescribed protocols. Operates MRI and related equipment, prepares scan room equipment, supplies and medications.

Completion of (minimum) a 2-year, approved, program in Radiologic Technology with certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in diagnostic radiology (RT R) required; advanced certification in MRI (RTR M) preferred ; will be mandatory as modality certification requires. Ability and demonstrated competence in IV insertion and contrast injection. Successful completion of a cross-sectional anatomy class.
