Job Title Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant-Inpatient Transplant Cardiology Building Code SL-Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center Address 2900 W Oklahoma Ave City Milwaukee # Hours Per Pay Period (Bi-weekly) 80 Schedule M-F; 8am-5pm or end of clinic Weekend Hours: Round on inpatients with inpatient MD; normally 4-6 hours each day Req # (optional) 64303BR Explore a Career In Transplant Cardiology Job Description Imagine yourself working with this team… TheTransplant Cardiology area at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center is currently seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work in our highly collaborative and leading edge environment providing patient care to patients in the hospital setting. Due to our commitment to shared governance and shared decision-making, the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, in association with a designated group of physicians, assists in the delivery of health care services and is responsible for the patient assessment, interpretation, diagnosis, and prescribing of appropriate medical and nursing therapeutic measures. . Imagine yourself… Eliciting a personal medical history, performing physical exam, and assessing and determining differential diagnosis. Prescribing accordingly. Consulting with physician as appropriate. Independently performing evaluation and treatment procedures necessary to provide an appropriate response to life-threatening emergency situations. Providing emergency medical interventions until a physician arrives. Skills / Requirements
General Qualifications
*Master of Science degree in Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner with certification by appropriate governing body -or- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program and Current Wisconsin licensure (or eligible). *Eligibility or current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) prescribing privileges. *Ability to work as a member of a health care team. *Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively. Desired Qualifications *Two years of previous experience as a Nurse Practitioner in Cardiology strongly preferred.
