As Manager Surgical & Ambulatory Services at Aurora St. Luke's South Shore, imagine yourself

The Manager, Surgical Services will have operational responsibility for the St. Luke's South Shore Anesthesia, Surgery, PACU, Day Surgery, Ambulatory and Vince Lombardi Cancer Departments. This includes multi-specialty procedures, physicians and equipment.

*Prepares the capital equipment budget, soliciting input from the physicians whenever appropriate. In collaboration with the VP/NE, completes the annual operational and staffing budgets with regard to the needs of each department area based on the department's goals, objectives, and standards.

*Responsible for program development and communicating and promoting new approaches and concepts in nursing practice.

*Promotes communication among patients, families, hospital departments and medical staff to optimize the interdependence of all team members. Coordinates the needs of service-specific physicians and acts as liaison between the medical staff and the nursing staff by serving as a problem solver and mediator.

*Develops and maintains effective intra and inter-departmental relationships. Facilitates positive communication with medical supply companies and their representatives.

*Ensures that all necessary equipment and supplies are available for the department and for procedures, in coordination with the Materials Management Department.


Skills / Requirements
General Qualifications

*Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) granted by the State of Wisconsin.

*Bachelor's Degree in Professional Nursing preferred.

*Minimum five (5) years of clinical experience; preferably in a surgical setting.

*Exposure to and understanding of basic managerial skills.

*Strong aptitude in human resource management.

*Excellent interpersonal communication and problem solving skills necessary.
